  • 1991 Gibson J-100 Prototype (1939 Reissue) Excellent, Original Hard, Call For Price!

Guitar Well well; here we have 1 of 2 Prototype 1939 Reissue J-100's made in 1991. This is the closest to the originals as Gibson has ever made. The model put into production after the prototypes were made lacked the stair step headstock, only these two had it, and were masterbuilt by Ren Ferguson & John Walker. These two guitars feature mahogany back and sides like the originals - and unlike most other reissues made over the years, as well as the trademark moustache bridge on the original J-100 & J-200 models. Overall excellent condition with great low action and typical Gibson jumbo flat top sound; loud and percussive, warm and full. There is a small, touched up repair on the bass side upper bout. Extremely fine condition and playability
