1959 Super 400 CESN. With fewer than 30 of these ever made with Venetian cut-away, blonde finish and PAFs, this is quite possibly the nicest one extant, having some of the best looking maple you'll ever see, in addition to being factory stereo and having factory Bigsby. No doubt a special order, it also left the factory with a matching "stinger" at the neck heel to match the normal one on the back of the headstock. The back and sides are extremely highly figured, the maple having great depth, iridescence and lots of movement - very similar to Sandy, the famous '59 'Burst with equally dramatic wood that Gibson modeled their Collector's Choice #4 after. Sure wish I'd held onto that one. Sound and playability are just what you'd hope they'd be, the original frets are in excellent condition. Overall in exceptional condition, just some very light over-spray on the face that is almost undetectable. The original bridge was retrofitted with nylon saddles a few years after it was bought. Personally I prefer metal saddles on Gibson solid bodies but definitely nylon on arch tops. Still has the original case in very good condition, good thing it always had the original case cover to protect it. Stereo to mono cable included.
